The Storytime Program
From the very first classroom to what’s now over 1,200 visited each year, our Storytime Program is a foundational cornerstone from which we build outward and upward to spread literacy throughout the St. Louis metro region.
Inspiring wonder
Armed with a tote bag and a smile, Storytime readers frequent the same classroom week after week. They read to the same kids (while incrementally getting better at voices) and establish a rapport built upon consistency and enthusiasm to create anticipation for the next visit.

As this anticipation turns to inevitable excitement, a connection forms between the child, the reader and the books. Children learn to associate reading with fun. And because it’s fun, they look to engage with reading more often. This cycle of enthusiasm sends children on their way to meet key reading benchmarks.
