Neighborhood Reading Captains

Like a block captain, but for literacy. Neighborhood Reading Captains are passionate residents who lead literacy efforts within their communities in all sorts of ways–strengthening and supporting their neighborhoods one page at a time.

Captains are active in the West End, Dutchtown, the LaSalle Park, Clinton-Peabody, and West Pine Housing Developments, and the Normandy area (Velda Village, Pine Lawn, Pagedale, Wellston).

Book by book, block by block

Across six communities, our Neighborhood Reading Captains are planning and delivering literacy experiences for families. Big or small, these encounters are meaningful moments that create strong connections.
